Russian instrumental case

The instrumental case is a set of word forms which usually mark the means of the action.

This case is used in Russian for the following purposes:

  1. To indicate an instrument to carry out the action.
  2. After certain verbs, like становиться (to become), восхищаться (to admire)
  3. After certain prepositions, like с (with), между (between)
  4. With parts of the day and seasons of the year
